Welcome to Phoenix Networking

Phoenix Networking is a not-for-profit group of Small and Medium Enterprise business owners. The purpose of the group is to provide a support network for each other. This takes the form of both looking for business for each other and in the information and ideas shared at our monthly breakfast meeting.

Membership
The group is capped at 20 members to ensure that everyone will know all the other members of the group well. The group operates a ‘lock’ on professions in order to avoid competition amongst ourselves. However, we do allow members to have more than one profession – indeed some members have three business interests or are changing their core business focus (yes we can do buzz words if we have to).

Meeting
We meet on the first Thursday of each month from 7am - 8:30 at Cottesmore Golf and Country Club.

In order to ensure that we know each other, we have a mixture of individual presentations, one to ones and idea exchanges.

Our breakfast meetings run to an agenda, but are kept informal and the format changes from time to time in order to keep the concept fresh. We are not driven or rewarded for growing the group, rather our rewards come from the support that each member gets from the others.

There is a requirement for members to to attend the meetings as often as possible. We feel members should want to attend for the value they get from that meeting, both for themselves and the other members.

Cost
Membership is the cost of breakfast plus a small surplus to help fund the costs of running the group. In order to commit to each quarter, members pay for breakfast quarterly in advance. No other fees are charged. Members are welcome to invite guests to the meetings, a slight additonal charge is made for their breakfasts.

History
The Phoenix Group formed at the beginning of 2006. The name comes from one of the two golf courses at the Cottesmore Golf and Country Club where we meet. We could have been the Griffin Group, but that is how the votes went initially.

If you are interested in joining the group, please contact me to discuss availability of places.
